Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What does Schlake actually do for us, in plain terms?
Your data is almost certainly messier than it looks day-to-day — inconsistent records, no real structure underneath, hard to trust for reporting or automation. Schlake sits underneath your existing systems, cleans and restructures that data into a governed, audit-traceable model, and then lets you safely run reporting, analytics, and AI on top of it — with compliance built into the pipeline instead of bolted on afterward.
Do we have to switch our systems to use Schlake?
No. Schlake is built to be systems-agnostic — it works with the systems you already run rather than requiring a migration. We connect to your existing data rather than replacing the tools your team already knows.
Q: What does implementation and onboarding look like, and how long does it take?
We start with a scoped discovery pass on your existing data (schema, table structure, known data-quality issues), then map it into Schlake’s canonical model and stand up the pipeline in stages, with compliance checkpoints built in as we go rather than a single big-bang cutover. Timelines and scope are set per engagement based on the number of locations and the state of your existing data — we’ll size this precisely once we’ve seen your environment.
Q: How is our data kept secure and compliant?
Compliance checkpoints are built directly into the pipeline (at the L2, L4, and L6 stages of our L0–L7 Medallion Architecture), not applied as an afterthought. Infrastructure runs on multi-cloud Terraform, and HIPAA compliance is an active, ongoing roadmap item — we’re happy to walk through the specifics of where that stands for your timeline and location count.
Q: Who owns our data once it's in Schlake?
Your data remains yours. Schlake restructures and governs it on your behalf — it doesn’t become our asset, and you’re not locked into our platform to access or export it. We’ll put exact data-ownership and portability terms in the contract before anything goes live.
Q: How is this different from a dashboard tool like Jarvis Analytics we may already use?
Tools like Jarvis sit on top of whatever data your PMS already has and turn it into reports and visuals. Schlake works one layer deeper — it restructures the underlying data itself into a clean, governed model before anything is reported on or automated. Think of it as fixing the plumbing versus decorating the room: you can keep a reporting tool like Jarvis on top of Schlake — they’re not mutually exclusive.
Q: What kind of support do we get after go-live?
As an early-stage partner, you work directly with the founding team rather than a tiered support queue — which means faster response times and product decisions shaped by what you actually need. We’ll formalize an SLA appropriate to your organization’s size as part of onboarding.
Q: Do you have existing customers or references we can talk to?
We’re early — Schlake’s foundation rests on a real, documented production case: an Open Dental environment with zero foreign-key constraints and unstructured clinical data, which we mapped and restructured directly. We’re currently bringing on a small number of design partners, and being early means direct access to the founding team and the ability to shape the roadmap — something later customers won’t get.
Q: What happens to our data/service if Schlake as a company doesn't make it long-term?
A fair question for any early-stage vendor. Because your data stays yours and isn’t locked into a proprietary format, you retain the ability to export it regardless of Schlake’s trajectory. We’ll put explicit data-portability and continuity terms into the contract so this isn’t just a verbal assurance.
